1. What are adverbs of frequency?

Adverbs of frequency are words that tell us how often we do something. They help us talk about our habits, routines, and everyday activities.

2. Common adverbs of frequency

- Always – 100% of the time
- Usually – most of the time
- Often – many times
- Sometimes – on some occasions
- Rarely – not often
- Never – 0% of the time

3. Examples

1.  I always study English.
2.  She usually walks to work.
3.  He often watches TV.
4.  We sometimes eat out.
5.  They rarely go shopping.
6.  I never smoke.

4. Where do we use them?

With a main verb, the adverb usually comes before the verb:

Subject + Adverb + Main Verb

  • I always drink coffee.
  • She usually gets up early.
